Carjacking Responses Based In Reality

I posses a large amount of knowledge on vehicle defense and the corresponding ballistics issues that go with shooting in, from, through, and around vehicles. Because of this I tend to look at vehicle defense differently than most other people do. Placing a focus on movement rather than ballistics has been my focus for many years. I've been trained with a mindset of defeating the vehicle's ability to stop rounds. Because of this I have learned that expending ammo trying to get a clean shot on the bad guy through the vehicle is usually a waist of ammo.

If you're being carjacked and you've left yourself an out, in the form of a generous reactionary gap, you can get on the throttle and exit the kill box. Even driving 50 feet further down the road can totally frustrate your attackers effort to get to you or your vehicle. Letting him dictate the terms of the fight is just dumb if you can avoid it. I know that going to guns "feels right" to a lot of people. I used to be one of those, however, I now know better. Look at it this way. If you're shooting a 9mm Glock 19 you'll be rocking 115 Gr. or possibly 147 Gr. projectiles with decent, but limited energy. Well imagine if you could strike with 32,200,000 Grains of force backed by infinite kinetic energy. That is what a 4,600 lb vehicle comes out to when you convert it to grains. Think about that, 32+ MILLION Grains of infinite kinetic energy ripping through your attacker and carrying away to safety at the same time.
