Always Moving Forward - DON'T be a Monument be a Movement

People sometimes get galvanized when something bad happens. Whether it's our own fault or something out of our immediate control. Let's face it though, It's not always easy to bounce back from failure but it is necessary. The only way to move forward after failure is to accept that failure is part of the process, put our emotions aside and grind forward. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

Transcript:
If you look back long enough, you'll become a monument and not a movement. You've gotta keep moving forward, guys. You have to be of movement every single day, every day of your life, every moment of your life, you have to continue to march on forward. You have to, with everything that you're doing.

All right, here we go. It's windy out here, guys, so I hope you guys can hear me. Got my Star Wars t-shirt, never trust a guy with a Star Wars t-shirt. Guys, keep moving forward, man. Keep moving forward. I heard this at church, it was a statement or it was a saying that said, "If you look back long enough, you become a monument and not a movement." You gotta keep moving forward, guys. You have to be of movement every single day, every day of your life, every moment of your life, you have to continue to march on forward. You have to, with everything that you're doing. Don't be conclusive, don't be cynical, those things just stop you, they'll stop you on your tracks and they'll keep you from moving forward. Because conclusive people, they already made up their mind, there is no need for due diligence because I don't need to learn something new. I don't need to see if that is correct or not. I don't have to do that. I know everything. I know most things or I know the things that I know, even the things that you don't know.

Here's the thing, conclusive people, they'll admit that they don't know everything, but the things that they know, forget it. That's it. You can't even have a conversation with them because their mind is set. It's etched in stone. It's cemented. And so, there's nothing you can about that. Guys, don't. Always, always be willing to learn something new. In anything and everything that you do, always be willing to learn something new, guys, always. That's the way you're gonna keep moving forward. That's the way you're gonna become a movement and not a monument. Be of movement, guys. Continue to move forward all the time, guys, all the time. Even when the cards are stacked against you, when the deck is stacked against you, keep moving forward, man. Even when you're in the valley of life, keep moving forward. That's the only way you're gonna get back on the summit. That's the only way you're gonna get to the summit, is if you keep moving.

You have to. You have to keep moving forward. Whatever it is that you're going through, I don't know what you're going through, but I know that I've gone through some really bad times and it's always about just moving forward. Even if they're baby steps, you gotta keep moving forward, man. You have to. And a lot of people, they wanna get through it right away, it's the old saying that says, "There's no elevator to the floor of success, you have to take the stairs." A lot of people try to run up the stairs and guess what happens, by the time you hit the third, fourth flight, you're dead tired and you're done. It's the hare and the tortoise, that's what it is. Take your time, be patient. Don't procrastinate but be patient and get there. People that try to run up the stairs, they end up falling, breaking their nose, breathing through a tube for four, five months, and now they'll never get back on the stairs because they don't wanna fall again. But you gotta take your time. You have to take your time.

And look, everybody falls, everybody learns from their mistakes. I've said it before, I've fallen so many times but I've learned and that's not an excuse to go out there and just continue to fall because Einstein said it best that, you know, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again trying to get different results, right? There're some tragic falls that you will never get up from. Why? Because you rushed it. You weren't patient. You were trying to move forward too fast, way too fast. And a movement is a movement, a movement is not a speeding bullet. A movement is something that takes its time but keeps moving on a daily basis, continually. Take your time. Go out there, be a movement and don't be galvanized by something that happened to you two days ago, two weeks ago, two months ago, two years ago, two decades ago.

Keep moving forward, man. Keep moving forward. Stop being conclusive in your thoughts thinking, "Oh, that person hurt me so that's it, man, I'm done with that person." Look, we shouldn't forget, right? But we should forgive in everything and so, forgive, keep moving forward. That's it. Don't be galvanized by something that happened to you such a long time ago and you're just conclusive in that and that's it and that's the way it is, that's gonna keep you from moving forward. It's gonna keep you from moving forward because you wanna play it safe, you wanna play it safe so much that it galvanizes you. Guys, there's nothing wrong with being wrong. There's nothing wrong with failing, nothing. Nothing wrong with that. As long as you learn from it and you don't do it again and you don't do it over and over again. Life is full of failures, guys. Don't be a monument, be a movement. Keep moving forward.
