Train Smart: Use Your Head

After dozens of classes held in all types of weather I've come to the overwhelming conclusion that proper head protection consists of a hat, not a cap. Ball caps are the default tactical headwear but they offer zero protection to the sides of your face, or your neck. Sun damage is bad juju and should be avoided at all costs. If you come out to training you should truly consider foregoing the digital hearing protection and using ear plugs. In doing so you can then wear a hat that will save you from getting cooked while spending hours on the shooting line. If you absolutely must have digital ear-pro then consider getting the ones meant for helmet use. They'll fit under your hat. Think about it.
