Most of the time we spend with rifles is spent carrying them—So how can we make the process easier while giving ourselves an advantage when it comes time to shoot? Carry fewer rounds in your rifle mags. While this approach may seem counterintuitive, it does two things. First, it lessens the forward weight on your body, so you experience less strain while carrying your rifle. Second, it allows you to use your mag as a mono-pod when it comes time to shoot from a prone position. Just wedge that mag into the ground and lean your body weight into the gun.
