When discussing home invasion defense it's imperative to remember that if someone is breaking into your home when you are not there they are most likely there to either vandalize your home or take your belongings. However, if someone breaks into your home while you are there it is safe to assume that they are either looking for something very specific or are there too rape or murder you. I know that these are and unsavory things to consider but I'm not into putting out fuzzy warm videos.
Home invasion is a heinous crime and it needs to be understood for what it is. History has shown us that when a home invasion is allowed to take place unchallenged it seldom ends well for the homeowner. Your resolve to respond with violence must be absolute and swift. Being able to immediately lay your hands on a weapon is a key point. No matter where you are in your home you should be able to put your hands on a weapon of some sort within a couple of paces. To some, the idea of wearing a firearm around their home seems odd. To others it is a perfectly normal and very comfortable thing because they are accustomed to it. If wearing a gun in your home is not your thing then having Firearms and/or knives strategically placed around the home might be a good option for you. Obviously one has to take into account the element of having children in the home where weapons are present. My wife and I made it a point to incorporate Firearms into our lives and because of this our children grew up seeing Firearms and weapons around the house as a regular thing. This meant that they were not a source of curiosity to them. If you make it a point to incorporate weapons into your every day life your children will be far less likely to have a desire to mess around with them and get hurt. Obviously this has to be started early in their lives so consider this if you are wanting to move toward this direction.
If there is only one take away from this video it is to remember that the instant that your home is breached you must elevate to level 10 with your violence. You cannot stop to think about what is happening. The fact alone that someone has now entered your home without your consent means that you must take violent action to stop them. This is not a time to stop and think, this is a time to react with deadly force.
