The front sight is positioned behind the port so the sight picture stays clear. Dimensions remain identical to the non-compensated Pro—same 6.6-inch length, 4.8-inch height, and 1-inch width—so existing holsters still fit.
The upward gas redirect reduces muzzle rise and felt recoil. Independent testing and shooter reports consistently note flatter tracking and faster follow-up shots, often in the 15–25% muzzle-flip reduction range, with only minimal (or sometimes negligible) velocity loss. The Comp carries a higher MSRP than the standard Pro, typically in the low-to-mid $700 range depending on configuration and packages.
Trade-offs exist. The ports increase upward blast and noise, can deposit more residue on the optic or front sight (requiring occasional cleaning), and may not suit every indoor range or training environment. For many carriers who shoot regularly and value rapid, controllable strings of fire, the Comp is a worthwhile upgrade that does not change the gun’s concealability.
Choosing Between Them
Pick the original Hellcat when every fraction of an inch and ounce matters for deep concealment. Choose the Hellcat Pro when you want higher capacity, a more secure grip, and easier shooting characteristics without jumping to a larger compact. Opt for the Comp version of the Pro if reduced muzzle flip and quicker follow-ups are priorities and you accept the extra cleaning and blast.
