Many who carry concealed run an extra magazine. You may ask, “Why do I need an extra mag when I’m running a Glock 19 that already holds fifteen plus one in the chamber?” That’s a good question. A good answer is “You may need more” There has been documented cases where this has happened. The last thing you want is to run out of ammo and feel helpless.
Also, malfunctions. If you’re running a semi auto pistol you “will” have malfunctions. It’s not a matter of “If”, it’s a matter of “when”. One of the best ways to get out of a jam, pun intended, is an extra magazine. Having an extra mag allows you to clear a double feed a whole lot easier.
“Worst case scenario” or “eliminating all risk” is a good mindset to have when conceal carrying.
If you’re not conceal carrying, think about it. If you casually conceal carry, commit to carry all the time.
